I know I already blogged a little bit for today but I just wanted to share my excitement with all of you: I am no longer obese! According to my Wii Fit, I am now just “overweight”. My BMI is now below 30, 29.72 to be exact.

Wii Fit says Overweight

Wii Fit says Overweight

I’ve been waiting for the number to be less than 30, and I knew I was getting close. The joy I felt when I saw the sliding scale stop at below the 30 number is similar to the joy I felt not that long ago when the scale went below 200 for the first time in a long time.

I think I will feel this same joy again when the 100 pounds are finally gone. Only 21 more pounds out of the 100 are left! The goal is in sight.

    P.S.
What are your long term goals of keeping it off?

  2. Jennifer says:

Thank you Chandler. I appreciate your post. After the 100 pound goal is complete, I would like to extend it a bit by setting a new goal of losing about 20 more pounds, to reach a final end result of 148. One hundred just seemed like a huge number to me, and if I would have considered at the beginning that I could actually stand to lose 120, I could have made that part of my goal all along. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d reach 100 because I’d yo-yo’d so many times in the past.

For whatever reason, maybe the stability in my life overall now that I’m 40 years old, I see the 100 as very attainable and I really don’t doubt that I will make it.

Long term? Obviously, I’d like to keep it off. Right now I’m concentrating on calorie reduction and the 1400 or so calories per day is helping me lose the 1-2 pounds per week that I’ve been averaging. Once the weight is gone, I’d like to concentrate on exercising more or balancing my menu a bit better. Without the weight “loss” focus, I can probably concentrate on those other areas that aren’t receiving the focus right now. I figured that if I spent so much time focusing on everything (weight loss, exercise, nutrition, strength training, etc.) that I’d decrease my chances of meeting the weight loss goal.

So, now that the weight is coming off, pretty soon I can eliminate “weight loss” from my list of things to consider and I’ll change my focus — probably to strength training and muscle toning. Right now I’ve got a lot of loose skin that I wish were a bit more toned!

Considering you are a weight loss specialist, feel free to provide some ideas for me and my readers!

Great. Well know this when you switch to tone versus weight loss your calorie intake will need to increase in order to maintain a set weight. Why? Because lean muscle burns 3x the amount of calories as fat does. I specilize in long term weight loss and give away free reports on how to attain safely what your trying to do. Two of my own websites can be found at the bottom of this articlethat includes more tips on long term weight management.
