Well, I said I would comment on the recipe … it was a nub shy of two thumbs up. The taste reminded me of the cabbage rolls my grandmother used to make, which is a good thing.
But, I made a few substitutions. I used a can of tomato soup instead of the V-8 and beef bouillon instead of beef broth. I think perhaps the beef bouillon made it a bit too salty. Other than that, it was great! If I make it again, I think I will bypass the substitutions and follow the recipe as it is stated. Also, I think I will not shred my cabbage so fine. I used a grater and I think it would have seemed more authentic if I would have chopped the cabbage with a knife so that the pieces remained a bit larger. With as small as the cabbage pieces were, each bite made it difficult to tell whether I was eating cabbage or the rice in the recipe.
